abstract |
A system comprising: an active agent; a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; a signal generation component for emitting a current, the signal generation component comprising: a circuitry layer on a silicon support layer; an anode layer comprising a metal material electrically coupled to the circuitry layer; and a cathode layer comprising a salt material electrically coupled to the circuitry layer and electrically isolated from the anode layer; wherein the anode layer and the cathode layer are made from different materials selected to provide a voltage potential difference as a result of the materials being in contact with a conducting liquid to power the signal generation component, wherein the circuitry layer and the silicon support layer are positioned between the anode and cathode layers; wherein the circuitry layer is configured to produce in the conducting liquid a current between the anode layer and the cathode layer; an activation component configured to activate the signal generation component to generate the current through the conducting liquid; and a receiver configured to remotely detect the emitted current. |
