titleOfInvention | Successive production process for oxidized cyclic phenol sulfide |
abstract | Disclosed is a successive production process for an oxidized cyclic phenol sulfide represented by general formula (3), which comprises: (a first step) a step of reacting a para-alkylphenol compound (a starting material) with metal sulfur in an amount of 1.7 to 2.5 molar equivalents relative to 1 mole of the phenol compound and an alkali metal reagent in an amount of 0.25 to 0.75 molar equivalent relative to 1 mole of the phenol compound; and (a second step) a step of oxidizing a cyclic phenol sulfide represented by general formula (2) produced in the proceeding step with an oxidizing agent without removing the cyclic phenol sulfide out of a reactor, thereby producing the oxidized cyclic phenol sulfide, wherein the second step is carried out successively in the same reactor used for the first step. (In formula (2), R represents a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; and m represents an integer of 4 to 8. In formula (3), R represents a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; m represents an integer of 4 to 8; and n represents a number of 1 or 2.) |
