abstract | A method for determination of an α-glycosylated peptide in a whole blood and/or blood cell sample, the method comprising reacting the sample with a protease, reacting the resulting mixture with a scavenging reagent which comprises one or more ketoamineoxidases to scavenge an α-glycosylated amino acid, an ϵ-glycosylated amino acid, an ϵ-glycosylated peptide or a combination thereof and then reacting the resulting mixture with an oxidase which can act on an α-glycosylated peptide to determine the α-glycosylated peptide in the sample; and the scavenging reagent and a kit for use in the method. In the determination of a glycosylated protein such as glycosylated hemoglobin, measurement errors can be reduced and accurate measurement values can be obtained. |
