abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a thin metal film which is highly productive and can be manufactured by a simple process, has a high density and excellent durability. SOLUTION: The metal salt on the surface of a substrate on which a hydrophilic graft polymer chain containing a metal salt is present is obtained by reduction. This thin metal film can be obtained by reducing the metal ions adsorbed on the hydrophilic functional group of the hydrophilic graft polymer chain by applying a reducing agent to precipitate the metal.
