Particles, affinity particles having ligand for target substance, in vitro diagnostic reagent and kit that include same, and method for detecting target substance |
abstract |
Provided are: particles and affinity particles suitable for latex agglutination, the particles and affinity particles having little nonspecific adsorption and having a reactive functional group for chemically binding a ligand; an in vitro diagnostic reagent and a kit that include these particles as particles for latex agglutination; and a method for detecting a target substance. Particles in which the particle surface layer includes a copolymer having repeating units A that each have a side chain A having a carboxy group for binding with a ligand at the side chain end, and repeating units B that each have a side chain B having a hydroxyl group at the side chain end, the particles being characterized in that the particle surface layer hydrates and forms a swollen layer when the particles are dispersed in ion-exchanged water, the carboxy group density contained in the swollen layer satisfies 0.04-0.15/nm3, and the ratio of the dry grain size measured when the particles are dried and the grain size in water measured when the particles are dispersed in ion-exchanged water satisfies 1.10-1.40. |
