The present invention provides: an inorganic porous carrier that can be used to increase the purity of nucleic acid in production thereof, and that has a linker represented by general formula (1) (* represents a linkage of an inorganic porous body to the oxygen atom of a silanol group, n represents an integer such as 1, each occurrence of R independently represents an alkyl group having 3-10 carbon atoms and optionally having a substituent such as an alkoxy group, L represents a single bond, an alkylene group having 1-20 carbon atoms, or an alkylene group which has 2-20 carbon atoms and which includes -CH2-Q-CH2- in which any group Q selected from the group consisting of –O- and the like is inserted into at least one -CH2-CH2- group included in the alkylene group), wherein a mode diameter is 0.04-1 μm in a pore distribution as measured by mercury intrusion, and the density of voids having an opening area of 0.0025 μm2 or more as obtained by image analysis of the surface of the inorganic porous body is 12-30 voids/μm2; and a production method for nucleic acid using the inorganic porous carrier. |
