abstract The present invention relates to an ageing detector for an electrical circuit component and to a method for monitoring ageing of a circuit component. An ageing detector (30) for an electrical circuit component (100) for monitoring ageing of the circuit component (100) comprises at least one input for recording a parameter of the circuit component (100). The ageing detector (30) is set up to determine an associated reaction threshold and/or a reaction or to adapt the reaction threshold and/or the reaction, wherein the ageing detector (30) is also set up to trigger the reaction at least in response to the determined reaction threshold being exceeded by the parameter. The ageing detector (30) is also set up to use the recorded parameter to determine the reaction threshold and/or to adapt the reaction threshold and/or the reaction.
