Provided is a method for manufacturing expanded graphite that can safely and efficiently mass-produce grapheme, flake graphite, and the like. The method for manufacturing expanded graphite comprises: a first step for bringing a complex of a compound that acts as a charge acceptor for graphite into contact with raw material graphite; and a second step for bringing the raw material graphite that has been in contact with the complex into contact with a polar solvent subsequent to the first step. |
