The invention relates to combinations that reduce abiotic plant stress, said combinations containing 4-phenylbutyric acid or a salt thereof (component (A)) and one or more additional agronomically active compounds (component(s) (B)) selected from the range of fungicides, insecticides, safeners, and/or growth regulators or salts of the aforementioned compounds of group (B). In particular, the invention relates to synergistic combinations containing 4-phenylbutyric acid or a salt thereof (component (A)) and one or more additional agronomically active compounds (component(s) (B)) for increasing the stress tolerance in plants toward abiotic stress, preferably drought stress and/or heat stress, and for strengthening the plant growth and/or increasing the plant yield as a result of the increased stress tolerance under said conditions. |
