Provided is a ruthenium carbonyl complex represented by general formula (1).n(1) RuXY(CO)(L)n(In general formula (1), X and Y represent anionic ligands and may be the same as each other or different from each other; and L represents a tridentate aminodiphosphine ligand that has two phosphine groups and an -NH- group.) Also provided are a method for manufacturing the provided ruthenium carbonyl complex and a method for manufacturing alcohols by using the ruthenium carbonyl complex to catalyze hydrogen reduction of ketones, esters, and lactones. The provided ruthenium carbonyl complex has high catalytic activity and is easy to prepare and handle. |
