Disclosed is a method for producing a metal-clad substrate, which comprises the following steps (a) and (b): (a) forming a resin layer containing a plating catalyst or a precursor thereof on a substrate in such a manner the requirement 1 shown below can be fulfilled; and (b) plating the resin layer. Requirement 1: the plating catalyst of the precursor thereof is contained in a part of the resin layer ranging from a depth of 25 nm from the surface of the resin layer to the surface of the resin layer at a density of 3 × 10-20 to 30 × 10-20 mol/nm3 in terms of the metal element content. |
