The amount of a hemoglobin derivative in a sample can be determined by treating a sample solution containing the hemoglobin derivative with a denaturation reagent comprising a nonionic surfactant and an oxidizing agent to denaturalize the hemoglobin derivative in the sample solution and then performing the immunoassay utilizing an antibody specific to the denaturalized site on the hemoglobin derivative. In this method, it can be ensured the rapid denaturation of hemoglobin while minimizing the influence of a degeneration reagent on an immunological reaction during the determination of a hemoglobin derivative. |
