The present invention relates to non-factor compounds of formula (I) or (II), wherein R and Z are independently selected from H, D, C 1 -C 12 alkyl, preferably C 1 -C 4 alkyl, alkene, alkynyl, phenyl or -LX. wherein X represents a functional group or a reporter group attached via the L-linker, and QH is selected from - SH, -SeH, -NHNH2 or -ONH2 for use in targeted modification or derivatization of the biomolecule by covalent attachment to the biomolecule under methyl transferase. The further development of targeted modification and derivatization techniques is a method of targeting biomolecules and the method of detecting non-methylated targets in the biomolecule of the present invention. |
