abstract An ion exchange fiber and an electrodeionization device using the same are disclosed. Ion exchange fibers are grafted onto the polypropylene nonwovens using plasma. The monomer used for grafting is GMA. In addition, the grafted polypropylene nonwovens are sulfonated. Ion exchange fibers formed by sulfonation are applied to electrodeionization devices. Electrodeionizers using ion exchange fibers can achieve high ion exchange capacity, high filtration coefficient, and relatively high reaction rate constants.
