titleOfInvention Preventive for osteoporosis
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled preventive containing activated vitamin D as an active component and effective in preventing the systemic osteoporosis occurring after bone fracture and/or operation of bone fracture. n CONSTITUTION: The objective preventive contains an activated vitamin D, e.g. a compound selected from 1α-hydroxy-vitamin D, 1α-24-,1α,25- or 24,25-dihydroxy- vitamin D, 1α,24,25-trihydroxyvitamin D, 24, 25-F 2 -1α, 25-dihydroxy-vitamin D and 26,26,26,27,27,27-F 6 -1α,25-dihydroxy-vitamin D (especially activated vitamin D 3 of the above type) as an active component. The active component is administered at a rate of usually about 0.01W10μg/day/person in 1W3 divided doses per day. Osteoporosis can be completely prevented by continuously administering the agent under the above condition in the operation or during the remedying period of bone fracture independent of the age and the bone density before the operation of the bone fracture. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
