abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R is H or OH). n EXAMPLE: 24-Oxo-25-dehydrovitamin D 3 . n USE: A calcium regulating agent, having the activity of promoting the calcium absorption ability from the intestinal tracts, increasing the calcium concentration in blood and dissolving action on bone salts, and useful as a treating and preventing agent for diseases, e.g. osteoporosis or osteomalacia, caused by the abnormal calcium metabolism. n PREPARATION: A 24-oxo-3β-hydroxycholesta-5,7,25-triene expressed by formulaII (R 1 is H, OH or protected OH group; R 2 is H or a protecting group) is irradiated with ultraviolet light to produce 24-oxo-25-dehydroprevitamin D 3 , which is isomerized with heat energy and if necessary subjected to the protecting group removing reaction to give the aimed compound expressed by the formula I . n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio |
