PURPOSE: To produce L-threonine, in high yield, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Escherichia genus in a medium containing lactose or galactose as main carbon source. n CONSTITUTION: Escherichia coli AJ11332 (FERM-P No.4878), Escherichia coli AJ11334 (FERM-P No.4900) or Escherichia coli AJ11335 (FERM-P No.4901) is used as the threonine-producing strain, and is inoculated in a medium containing lactose or galactose as a main carbon source, and containing xylose, glucose, sucrose, etc. as the subsidiary carbon source, and nitrogen source, inorganic nutrient source and organic nutrient source. A remarkable amount of L-threonine can be produced and accumulated by culturing at 5W8pH and 27W28°C under aerobic condition for 1W4 days. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
