PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound which is a raw material for polyurethane, by reacting an aromatic nitro compound with an organic compound having OH and CO in the presence of a specific eatalyst and a specified compound to reduce the corrosion without lowering the catalytic activity. n CONSTITUTION: An aromatic compound, e.g. dinitrotoluene, is reacted with an organic compound, e.g. ethanol, having an OH group in the presence of a catalyst comprising metallic Pd, vanadium trichloride, and a tertiary amine supported on active carbon and a zinc family metal, e.g. zinc chloride, or iron family metal, e.g. ferric chloride, at 100W240°C, and a partial pressure of CO of 1W500 kg/cm 2 for 10 minW6hr to give the objective compound, e.g. diethyltolylene -2, 4-dicarbamate (urethane). n EFFECT: Very slight loss of expensive Pd and corrosion of devices. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio |
