abstract PURPOSE: A polyethylene terephthalae composition containing a polyethylene glycol with specific molecular weight and a metal sulfonate derivative is made into biaxially oriented films with good printability, antistatic property, transparency and slipping property. n CONSTITUTION: A polyester composition comprising a polyester more than 80wt% of which is polyethylene terephthalate, 0.5W10wt% of polyethylene glycol with molecular weight of 8,000W200,000, preferably 2,000W10,000 and 0.1W5wt% of a metal sulfonate is made into biaxially oriented films with density of 1.380W1.408g/cm 2 . When the molecular weight of the polyethylene glycol added is lower than 8,000, the adhesion of printing ink to the surface is insufficient and exceeding 200,000 impaires the transparency. The metal sulfonate derivative is, e.g., sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, or sodium octadecylbenzenesulfonate. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
