Provided is an electrophotographic photosensitive member capable of obtaining stable electrical characteristics even when used for a long period of time and capable of suppressing afterimages and background stains during image formation. An electrophotographic photosensitive member having a conductive support, and an undercoat layer and a photosensitive layer on the conductive support in this order, wherein the undercoat layer comprises a salicylic acid derivative and a naphthoic acid derivative.
