Provided is a photoreceptor capable of suppressing a decrease in image density and a background stain without causing an increase in potential of an exposed area even when used for a long period of time. In a photoconductor in which an intermediate layer 32 containing metal oxide particles and a photosensitive layer 33 are provided in this order on a conductive support 31, an elastic power (We / Wt value) of the intermediate layer 32 is obtained.
