Disclosed is a polyimide porous film or covering having excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance and high porosity. By using a mixed solvent of an amide solvent and an ether solvent having a specific boiling point as a solvent for a polyimide precursor, the mixture becomes porous during heating imidization and has a density of 0.10.
