abstract |
A by-product is produced by reaction from a product gas containing a conjugated diene obtained by subjecting a raw material gas containing a monoolefin having 4 or more carbon atoms and a molecular oxygen-containing gas to an oxidative dehydrogenation reaction in the presence of a catalyst. Aldehydes are efficiently removed by an industrially advantageous method to recover the conjugated diene in high yield. A product gas containing the conjugated diene is absorbed in an organic solvent A to obtain a solution B containing the conjugated diene, and the solution B containing the conjugated diene is distilled to obtain an organic solvent A and an aldehyde. And the conjugated diene D containing the aldehyde is contacted with the solvent C having an infinite dilution activity coefficient γ ∞ of 6.0 or less at 25 ° C.
