An AM device having a short response time, a large voltage holding ratio, a large contrast ratio, a long lifetime, and the like is provided. SOLUTION: A specific compound having a polymerizable group as a first component, a specific compound having a large negative dielectric anisotropy and a low minimum temperature as a second component, or a small viscosity as a third component Or it is set as the liquid crystal composition which may contain the specific compound which has a big maximum temperature, and the liquid crystal display element containing this composition.
