The present invention provides a modified diene rubber that is excellent in mechanical properties, low energy loss and wear resistance in a well-balanced manner and can be produced at a low cost by a simple method, a method for producing the same, and a rubber composition using the same. An epoxidation process for obtaining an epoxidized diene rubber by adding an epoxidation catalyst to a raw material diene rubber, and the following formula (1), without completely drying the epoxidized diene rubber.
