abstract The present invention provides a molding material which is transparent with little influence of scattering and coloring and has high mechanical properties and a low thermal expansion coefficient, a molded product using the molding material, and a method for producing the molded product. In a molding material containing at least a silsesquioxane compound having a polymerizable functional site and silica fine particles, the total content of the silsesquioxane compound and the silica fine particles is 95% by weight or more. And the molding material whose average particle diameter of the said silica particle is 1 nm or more and 100 nm or less. The polymerizable functional site is preferably composed of a group selected from acrylic, methacrylic, vinyl or epoxy. [Selection figure] None
