A carbon composite material obtained by coating a surface of a carbon material with a metal oxide, wherein the metal oxide is a metal oxide containing Fe. A carbon composite material, wherein the carbon material is mesoporous carbon. A carbon composite material in which the metal oxide containing Fe is Fe 2 O 3 . The method for producing a carbon composite material according to any one of the above, comprising the following steps (a) and (b): (A) The surface of the carbon material was coated with Fe by electrolysis using an anode, a cathode having a carbon material disposed on the surface, and an electrolytic solution made of an aqueous solution containing Fe, and Fe was coated A step of obtaining a carbon material.
