(57) [Summary] [Purpose] The main object is to provide an improved lithium secondary battery using a carbon material as a negative electrode and using propylene carbonate as at least a part of an organic solvent of an electrolytic solution. [Configuration] 1. A negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery in which the surface of a carbon material used as a component of the negative electrode is coated with a thin film of a lithium ion conductive solid electrolyte. 2.
