abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sharp charge in a high yield, a small amount of free external additive and a positively charged toner amount in a multistage mixing process of a toner base particle and a plurality of external additive particles having an average particle size different from each other. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a toner that can be a toner having a quantity distribution and has high durability. In the toner production method of the present invention, a plurality of external additive particles having different average particle diameters from spherical resin particles containing at least a colorant are subjected to a multistage external addition treatment using a spherical mixing treatment tank. At the time of external addition processing in the subsequent stage, when external additive particles having an average particle size larger than the average particle diameter of the external additive particles charged in the first stage are externally added, When the external additive particles having an average particle size smaller than the average particle size of the external additive particles charged in the first stage are externally added, the first step is performed.
