SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material for an alkaline storage battery is used for producing a positive electrode for an alkaline storage battery, and comprises a core layer containing nickel hydroxide and a surface layer containing a cobalt compound and covering the core layer. And is oxidized using an oxidizing agent in an aqueous alkaline solution. |
