abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyrolytically formed coated glass having remarkable sunlight shielding properties. SOLUTION: The solar control transparent glass sheet is provided by a soda-lime glass sheet carrying a coating of at least two pyrolysis-forming layers, the glass sheet containing an amount of dopant of 1 to 100 mol per 100 mol of metal oxide. There is a coating of a conductor or semiconductor layer formed from a material comprising a metal oxide and having a thickness in the range of 15 to 500 nm, said metal oxide being tungsten trioxide (WO 3 ), molybdenum trioxide (MoO 3 ) , Niobium pentoxide (Nb 2 O 5 ), tantalum pentoxide (Ta 2 O) 5), is selected from one or more five vanadium oxide (V 2 O 5) and vanadium dioxide (VO 2), whereby the coated sheet is neutral or blue in transmission and reflection, the range of 30% to 85% It has a luminous transmittance (TL) and a selectivity greater than 1, preferably greater than 1.2.
