abstract Provided is a molybdenum oxychloride that is characterized in that the purity thereof is 99.9995 wt% or higher. The present invention provides a molybdenum oxychloride manufacturing method in which a molybdenum oxychloride is manufactured: by synthesizing the molybdenum oxychloride in a reaction chamber by reacting MoO3 and Cl2; and by precipitating the molybdenum oxychloride in a recovery chamber by cooling the synthesized molybdenum oxychloride gas, the manufacturing method being characterized in that an impurity trap is provided between the reaction chamber and the recovery chamber, and impurities are removed at the impurity trap. The present invention addresses the problem of providing a high-purity molybdenum oxychloride and a manufacturing method therefor.
