Nickel hydroxide powder for alkaline batteries and nickel hydroxide electrode using the same |
abstract |
(57) [Problem] To provide a nickel hydroxide active material for an alkaline battery with an improved utilization factor and a nickel hydroxide electrode with an improved capacity density. SOLUTION: Cobalt valence of 2 is formed on the surface of a powder mainly composed of nickel hydroxide having a valence of nickel exceeding 2 valences. An active material in which a cobalt compound exceeding a valence is formed is used as an active material. For example, a material in which the surface of a nickel oxyhydroxide powder is covered with a cobalt oxyhydroxide layer is used as an active material. Then, this is used as a raw material, and is held by a three-dimensional porous body to form an electrode. |
