Described is a method for producing a high temperature stable TiO 2 -containing catalyst or catalyst support. It will an aqueous, Ti-containing solution having a dissolved Ti concentration of 10 to 250 g TiO 2 per liter of solution added to a maximum of 10 wt .-% suspension of a finely dispersed, inorganic support material in water, wherein the inorganic support material has a BET specific surface area of> 20 m 2 / g and any agglomerates of the primary particles present have a particle size d 50 <10 μm, preferably <5 μm, wherein the rate of addition of the Ti-containing solution to the suspension is chosen so that an addition of 0.05 g of TiO 2 per m 2 of carrier surface and hour is not exceeded, the TiO 2 is precipitated on the inorganic carrier, and the product obtained is filtered, washed and calcined.n n n Alternatively, the high temperature stable TiO 2 -containing catalysts or catalyst supports can be prepared by a process of rapidly precipitating from aqueous solution 1. hydrated preforms of one or more metal oxides or half metal oxides, and 2. titanium oxide hydrate. |
