The present invention provides: a catalyst which has more excellentnremovability upon organohalogen compounds and is suitable fornremoving the organohalogen compounds from exhaust gases; and anprocess for removing organohalogen compounds with this catalyst. Thencatalyst for removing organohalogen compounds comprises titaniumnoxide (TiO 2 ) and vanadium oxide as catalytic components, and has poresnthat includes a group of pores having a pore diameter distribution peaknin the range of 0.01 to 0.05 µm and another group of pores having a porendiameter distribution peak in the range of 0.1 to 0.8 µm, and this catalystnis characterized by further comprising an oxide of at least one metalnselected from the group consisting of manganese, cobalt, nickel, zinc, nzirconium, niobium, molybdenum, tin, tantalum, lanthanum andncerium as another catalytic component. The process for removingnorganohalogen compounds involves the use of this catalyst. |
