| abstract | Disclosed is substantially spherical porous beadsnof an aromatic polyether ketone resin, which have annaverage particle diameter of 50 to 5,000 µm and a porositynof 40 to 99 %. Also disclosed is a method fornproducing porous beads, which comprises: mixing, whilenheating, an aromatic polyether ketone resin with a solventncapable of dissolving the resin to thereby obtainna resin solution; dispersing the resin solution in anliquid dispersion medium which is incapable of dissolvingnthe resin and is non-miscible with the solvent, tonthereby obtain a dispersion having the resin solutionndispersed therein in the form of globules; cooling thendispersion while maintaining the dispersed form of thenresin solution in the liquid dispersion medium, tonthereby solidify the resin in the resin solution; andnseparating the solidified resin from a mixture of thensolvent and the liquid dispersion medium, thereby obtainingnsubstantially spherical porous beads of thenaromatic polyether ketone resin. |
