Phosphates of resorufin derivatives of the general formulas la and Ib are claimed in which R 2 and R 5 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen, halogen or a lower alkyl group, R ', R 3 , R 4 and R 6 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen, halogen, a cyano, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, carboxy, lower alkoxycarbonyl, carboxy lower alkyl, lower alkoxycarbonyl lower alkyl or one optionally - or disubstituted carboxamido group or the group in which R 7 is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group and n is an integer from 1 to 4, where R 6 can additionally represent a sulfonyl or nitro group, Y is nitrogen or the group N 0 and M and M ', which may be the same or different, represent hydrogen, an alkali, alkaline earth or ammonium ion. n n n These compounds are particularly suitable as chromogenic and fluorogenic substrates for determining the activity of phosphatases. The claimed phosphates are obtained by phosphorylation of the phenolic function of corresponding resorufin derivatives.n n n The application also relates to diagnostic agents for the detection of phosphatases which contain the claimed phosphates as chromogenic and fluorogenic substrates. |
