The invention relates to a process for obtaining hydrocarbon hydroconversion catalysts, these containing an alumina support, and an active phase containing at least one precious metal of the platinum family and optionally at least one promoter metal. . The catalyst is obtained by shaping an alumina powder support either by extrusion or by the so-called rotary granulator method. The alumina used is preferably a by-product of Ziegler's synthesis reactions for the formation of higher alcohols, and having been subjected to a prior peptization, at least part of the active phase being introduced during the extrusion or of said method of the rotating granulator. The invention applies in particular to the manufacture of acid catalysts for catalytic reforming and the production of aromatic hydrocarbons. |
