The subject of the invention is a process for the preparation of colloidal dispersions of ceric dioxide in organic liquids, characterized in that it consists in heating: (a) cerium dioxide comprising ammonium nitrate and a member chosen from the group formed by water, methanol, acetic acid and their mixtures, (b) an organic acid having about 10 to about 40 carbon atoms, (c) an organic liquid, then removing the water, methanol, acetic acid released during heating and to separate the undissolved solid particles.n n n The invention provides complexes formed by physical association of ceric dioxide and free organic acid in a CeO 2 / organic acid molar ratio of at least 4/1. |
