The present invention relates to a novel sol of rare earth (s) and in particular of tetravalent rare earths. This rare earth (s) sol is defined in that it contains: i) agglomerates of cerium dioxide crystallites, crystallites of which the d8 0, advantageously d9 0, measured by photometric counting (electron microscopy by transmission at high resolution) is at most equal to 5 nanometers, ninety percent (by mass) of agglomerates comprising from 1 to 5, preferably 1 to 3 crystallites, ii) an amphiphilic organic acid, preferably a monoacid, iii) an organic phase. Application to the fight against pollution by soot from the diesel engine. |
