The present invention relates to a metal sheet laminated with a triple layer of thermoplastic resin as a material for cans, providing outstanding flavour retention of packed foodstuffs and beverages, outstanding shapability, outstanding adhesion of the resin layer laminated in this manner to the metal sheet, outstanding resistance to denting, and particularly outstanding resistance to denting at low temperature. The process for producing the metal sheet laminated with a triple layer of thermoplastic resin comprises the application of a triple layer of thermoplastic resin, in which a polycarbonate resin layer is embedded between an outer and inner polyester resin layer, to one or both sides of a metal sheet coated with a single layer of hydrated chromium oxide or a double layer, comprising an upper layer of hydrated chromium oxide and a lower layer of metallic chrome, application being performed using conventional film laminating techniques, extrusion coating techniques or a combination of these techniques. |
