Peroxy compounds, particularly for use in bleaching colored stains when washing textiles or cleaning hard surfaces, are activated very effectively using compounds of the general formula (I), wherein R is hydrogen, an aryl, alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl radical with 1 to 17 C atoms, n stands for a number from 1 to 8, and A, B and Y independently of one another are hydrogen, an aryl, alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl group with 1 to 17 C atoms or a hydrophilic group selected from -SO3H, -OSO3H, -PO(OH)2-CO2H and their anions as well as -N<+>R<1>R<2>R<3>X<->, wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> independently of one another are hydrogen, an aryl, alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl radical with 1 to 17 C atoms and X<-> is a charge-balancing anion, provided that at least one of the A, B or Y substituents in the molecule is a specified hydrophilic group. |
