The invention relates to a method for producing enantiomer-free phenylacetyl carbinoles of formula (I), in which R is H, F, Cl or Br, from acetaldehyde and benzaldehydes of general formula (II) in the presence of pyruvate decarboxylase from zymomonas. The invention is characterized in that the acetaldehyde is continuously or discontinuously made up during the biotransformation, so that the concentration of acetaldehyde in the reaction medium is between 20 and 50 mMol/1. |
