abstract The invention relates to enzymes for use in a process for the stereoselective reduction of carbonyl compounds or oxidation of hydroxy compounds, in a process for isomerization between ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, and in a process for the stereoselective reductive amination of chiral alpha-hydroxy ketones to the amine and the counterreaction. It also includes their amino acid sequence, fusion proteins comprising the enzyme, and vector, cell or organism containing a nucleotide sequence encoding the enzyme. Furthermore, the corresponding methods and use are included in these methods.
