abstract Diphenylmethyl-azetidinone compounds represented by general formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, and medicinal compositions, elastase inhibitor and antiinflammatory agent containing the same; wherein R?1 and R2¿ represent alkyl or alkylene; A represents substituted amino; B1 represents -CO- or -CONH-; B2 represents a single bond or -CO-; and D represents a single bond or alkylamino. The compounds (I) have an elastase inhibitory effect and are useful as an antiinflammatory agent.
