A self-adhesive transdermal matrix system for the percutaneous delivery of ibuprofen. The matrix system comprises a carrier and a self-adhesive matrix and is characterised in that said matrix includes (a) 55-75 parts by weight of an adhesive acrylate copolymer with a glass transition temperature of -70 to -10 °C, (b) 5-15 parts by weight of a cationic acrylate copolymer with a glass transition temperature of 20-80 °C, (c) 5-15 parts by weight of ibuprofen in free acid form, and (d) 10-25 parts by weight of diethyl phthalate. A method for preparing said matrix system is also disclosed. |
