abstract The present invention relates generally to the immunodetection of oxidatively-modified low density lipoproteins (LDL), antibodies thereto or an immune complex thereof, in biological fluid. More particularly, the present invention relates to an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique for the analysis of oxidatively-modified LDL, antibodies thereto or an immune complex thereof in mammalian plasma, and even more particularly, human plasma. The present invention is also directed to a kit to facilitate the ELISA technique. The present invention is particularly useful in the assessment of coronary heart disease risk.
