Method for preparing aromatic polyesters, and device for implementing such method |
abstract |
Process for the preparation of aromatic polyesters by polycondensation of di-phenols and aromatic dicarboxylic acid chlorides according to the technique of the surface-boundary polycondensation process of a two-phase system; this technique of the reaction mixture which, on the other hand, consists of an aqueous phase containing the diphenolate obtained by the addition of alkali metal hydroxide, and on the other hand of a liquid organic phase, containing the acid chlorides. The device allowing the execution of the process is constituted by a reaction tank, provided with an agitator making it possible to obtain the dispersion of the two phases in circuit: The organic phase is introduced continuously in the direction of the stirring current and this in a place located in front of the agitation mechanism. This organic phase consists of a chlorine solvent essentially free of water, in which the acid chloride is dissolved. The reaction mixture is then subjected to one or more mixing steps, preferably in this mixing device; dispersing steps in the context of which the mixture is brought to high speed, the kinetic energy of entrainment of the mixture being subsequently reduced to a low value compared to its maximum value. |
