titleOfInvention Method for extracting coumarin-derived organic compounds by reusing wood from the genus citrus
abstract The present invention patent relates to a method for extracting coumarin-derived organic compounds by reusing wood from the family Rutaceae, particularly from the genus Citrus, such as from orange trees, and comprises steps for the complete reuse of wood from the genus Citrus, specifically the trunk and roots, which would be discarded at the end of the productivity life cycle of an orange tree or equivalent, due to eradication as a result of diseases, thereby significantly reducing the need for burning and the labour required for disposal thereof and resulting in the production of organic compounds, such as Osthol - C15H16O3 (CAS number 484-12-8), widely used for anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antilipemic activity, and also Seselin - C14H12O3 (CAS number 523-59-1), which has anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic and antifungal activity.
