abstract The present invention relates to coronavirus-specific double-stranded oligonucleotides and uses thereof. The present invention specifically induces RNA interference in coronaviruses, especially SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2, and a mutant thereof, so as to effectively inhibit viral infection and proliferation, and is nearly unaffected by viral mutation since conserved sequences are mainly targeted. Therefore, the double-stranded oligonucleotides of the present invention can be effectively used in coronavirus proliferation inhibition, infection prevention and infection treatment and, particularly, as an agent for preventing and treating COVID-19, which is the cause of the current pandemic.
